We believe theatre should be an experience, not just something you sit and watch. We’re passionate about storytelling, imagination and creating opportunities for people to become part of something extraordinary.
Our work spans immersive theatre, live performance, classical works and creative education. We’re particularly interested in exploring new ways to bring stories to life, blurring the boundaries between performer and audience and taking theatre beyond the traditional stage.
Our immersive productions invite you to step into another world, meet its characters and play your part in its unfolding story. You don’t need to be an actor or have any previous experience – just bring your imagination and a willingness to get involved.
Dr Ross Woods
Be Anyone, Do Anything
Anyplace Theatre was founded by Dr Ross Woods, a theatre practitioner, academic and educator with over twenty years’ experience in professional theatre, education, and actor training.
Ross holds a PhD in Theatre from Guildford School of Acting, an MA in Performing Shakespeare and a BA (Hons) in Theatre Acting from Bretton Hall, alongside a Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Teaching.
His professional experience includes curriculum management, course leadership, directing, performing, actor training, and teaching theatre-making.
With a particular interest in early modern tragedy, Shakespeare, and the relationship between performers and audiences, Ross is drawn to the ways theatre can bring people together to share stories and experiences. He established Anyplace Theatre as an opportunity to explore these possibilities, combining his academic and professional experience with a love of imaginative storytelling and ambitious theatrical experiences.
His aim is to create theatre that surprises, challenges and inspires – and, above all, gives people the opportunity to experience something a little different.
